Wet and Winding Roads of Värmland

On the farm near Molkom

Our third day on the road was off to a wet start. We woke up outside of Karlstad and certainly took our time getting our gear packed. We also took liberal use of the campsite amenities across the road 👌, which may have delayed us a bit. The morning had a light rain, which cleared up around noon. Logically that would be the time to get on the road, but no, we putzed around longer. Once we finally got geared up and rolling, rain started falling, so our plans to ride to Mora were stalled. Instead we took a shorter trip to a farm near Molkom to visit another Swedish family connected via my Allt For Sverige experience. The ride was short and wet and David and I were eager to dry off in front of their fire.

Me and Rassmus on the sheep farm outside of Molkom

Rasmus and Emma were so welcoming and didn't mind we were wet and our boots were stinky. They live on the most beautiful farm in the forest and it was a treat to enjoy a dinner of wild boar and roasted vegetables inside their cozy 1880's farmhouse. While I was a little disappointed we didn't put on more miles, I certainly can't complain about how our rainy day turned out instead. After a well rested night in their home, I think David and I can continue onto to Mora with more energy!
